Bird Watching
 Bird watching on the Oregon coast provides numerous opportunities to view over 247 unique species. It's truly a bird watcher’s heaven.
Just nearby the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area alone, there are at least 137 different species present during any time of the year.
The birds include songbirds, shorebirds, wading birds, birds of prey and migratory birds. Truly unique birds that you will want to watch for include the Bald Eagle, Snowy Plover, Great Blue Heron and the Great Egret. Don’t miss the thrilling sight of 300 stately Tundra Swans assembled in the shallow, marshy lakes of winter. Also, it is delightful to watch the sanderlings scurrying along the beach in tune with the movement of the waves.
