Florence Events
Florence has unique events that keep it full of new people and exciting activities. They entice just about everyone to our little neck of the woods. Families, friends, newly weds, singles, runners, musicians and even seasoned bikers eventually end up in Florence on the Oregon coast.
A few of Florence’s more popular annual events are the Rhododendron and Winter Folk Festivals, Independence Day Celebration, Florence Rods 'n Rhodies, Chowder, Blues & Brews, Annual Veterans Day Parade, and the Chamber Golf Scramble. Be sure to visit the Florence Old Town Market every Sunday through October and July 4th, 5th and 6th.
2007 was a special year to us because we celebrated the 100th Rhododendron Festival. It is the second oldest event in the state.
Florence revolves around the dunes that sprawl throughout our coast. There are many weekend events in the early winter that focus on various activities in the dunes, including the Dune Buggy show, the Motocross Obstacle Course, the Modern Dune Buggy Race, and a Dune Mush. All of these events take place in the Oregon Dune National Recreation Area, which starts in Florence.
Chamber Noon Forums
Currently being held at Three Rivers Casino World Market Buffet. Third Thursday of each month. Noon-1:00pm. Lunch is available for $9.99 ($1 off for seniors and players club members). No pre-reservation required. This meeting always features a speaker that is relative to the area business community. We also do self-introductions, which allow people to give quick updates about their business.
Chamber Coffee Talk
First Friday of each month. 8:00-8:45am. Bridgeport Market in Old Town. Coffee & pastries available. No pre-reservation is required. This meeting is focused specifically on networking and highlighting fellow members. Each month we will feature one chamber member to speak about their business for 10 minutes. Chamber Business After Hours
Third Thursday of each month. 5:30-7:00pm. Held at a different chamber member business each month. This is a time to show yourself off to the public! These events are promoted by the Chamber on KCST Radio and in The Siuslaw News. Generally food and beverages are provided by the member. This event has an “open house” feel to it.
