Chamber Board Election

Elections Are Here!

Each year we rotate several Board positions for election, which takes place in June. This year we have four vacancies to be filled, and those elected will take office for a three-year term beginning July 1st, 2014.  The candidates running in this election are:

Bobby Jensen Jr., Bobby Inc.

“As a newer member of the community I have a strong desire to make it a place I call home.  I was raised until 11 years old on the Oregon Coast and have always wanted to return.  I was able to recently sell a company I built in Logan, Utah, and return.  My company was based on four specific areas of focus:  Innovative, Unique, Proficient & Genuine.  I have a strong passion for building and progressing business organizations, and have studied business development for approximately 12 years, and desire to be a part of something bigger than myself. I am interested in Ambassadors, Membership Committee, Marketing & Communications and Downtown Revitalization Team.”

Annette Foglio, Foglio Trucking & Drop Box Service

“I was raised in Florence and I was very active as a student in school activities.  I moved away when I left for college not to return for 30 years.  Since my return I have enjoyed getting connected to the business community of Florence.  I am a project manager in the software industry and while I am not directly working in local business, my skill set could be of value for the Florence Chamber.  My skill set includes over 30 years of finance, marketing, technical writing and project management.  Florence is a very unique and special place and I look forward to providing any volunteerism needed to boost our community.”

Jim Martin, Silver Sand Dollar

“I have been in business with my wife for over 40 years.  We have been in the manufacturing and wholesale business.  I have been involved in the Denver International Western & English Apparel Market and other smaller wholesale markets during that time.  We have been in Florence for the last four years and have a retail store in Old Town.  I have been active in promotions for our business and with Chamber events such as Rods & Rhodies and Columbus Day Chowder Voyage.  I am currently a Chamber Board Member and interested in Downtown Revitalization Team, Rhododendron Festival, Rods & Rhodies and Fourth of July Committees.”

Jodi Newby, Abel Insurance Agency

“I’ve been in Florence for fourteen years, with Abel Insurance for twelve years as well as a Chamber member for twelve years.  I have a great working relationship with the members and most of the town.  I feel really strongly about following through when I commit to something so I will do my best to make a difference. I am interested in helping our business community with economic development.”

Linda Stent, Pacific Pines RV Park & Storage

“As the co-owner of Pacific Pines RV Park & Storage, I have been active in the Florence business community for three years.  I am involved with several local organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Florence-Siuslaw Lions Club.  Pacific Pines RV Park & Storage has been active in the community as well, as a Food Share drop off Location, Member of Travel Lane County and Bark for Life team sponsor.  Before relocation to Florence I was involved in a variety of community activities including Chamber of Commerce in Paris Texas.  I am interested in Marketing & Communications, and Rhododendron Festival committees.”
