Explore Our Rich Heritage

The Siuslaw Pioneer Museum is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and display of historical artifacts and photographs specific to the Florence area. The museum is organized and operated exclusively by dedicated volunteers as a non-profit, educational facility.
In 2005, the museum relocated into an original old schoolhouse, The Callison building, that was built in 1905. This restoration is a wonderful refurbishing of an archictectural gem. The museum not only preserves our past, but glorifies this beautiful building for visitors to learn about our colorful history.

The museum holds the relics and history of Florence, from its beginning to where it stands now. You can find library and historical information, artifacts, photographs and books that explore the lives of the pioneers and the Pacific Northwest. The museum also features The Jensen Gallery of Historical Photos.
There is a $3.00 admission fee. Children under age 16 and Museum Members are admitted for free. The Museum is supported solely by fund raising efforts and membership. Group tours are available by reservation if there are 10 or more people.
The museum is open from 12:00 to 4:00pm, Tuesdays thru Sunday. It is closed Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving, Christmas and the entire month of January. 541 997-7884
The Siuslaw Pioneer Museum is located on the corner of Maple and Second Streets, only a few steps from the Chamber of Commerce.
