Grocery Diving
The coastal range provides a wide variety of diving possibilities. Here in Florence you'll find what we call "grocery diving." This means we have a great variety of underwater delicacies. You'll find dungeness crab, cockles (clams), lingcod, sea bass, perch and many more. You'll need a fishing and/or crabbing license, which can be purchased locally.

 Imagine: It's early morning, the surf is crashing against the sandy beach and you are standing on the shoreline feeling the wind against your face and listening to the roar of ocean waves.
As you walk into the surf you feel the power the ocean is creating pressing against your body and feel the cold water wrap around your feet.
You put your board out in front of you as the first wave rolls up. Gripping your board hard, you jump into the wave, it picks you up, you glide over it and the sea begins to surround you. Paddling out as far as you dare, you set yourself up for your first wave.
Here comes the perfect wave: you turn and begin kicking. The goal is to try and stay in front of the wave. The surf begins rolling all around and you become part of the wave. Gliding with it, leaning left to catch the peak, you find yourself gliding almost magically to the shore. - Come to the Oregon Coast and try it with us.
